First Impressions
Walking into Soho House Tel Aviv feels like stepping into someone’s impossibly chic private residence — if that someone happened to have impeccable taste and unlimited funds. This five-star member’s club turned hotel sits on Yefet Street in Jaffa, and honestly, the location alone is worth the splurge. You’re right in the heart of one of Tel Aviv’s most atmospheric neighborhoods, where ancient stone buildings meet contemporary Israeli culture in the most effortless way.
The Jaffa Experience
What I love about staying here is how you’re actually in Jaffa — not just visiting it. You can wander down to the old port in minutes, grab coffee at one of those tiny local spots that tourists never find, or just sit in the hotel’s courtyard and watch the neighborhood come alive. The couples who stay here clearly get it (they rate the location 9.1, which honestly makes sense), but it works just as well if you’re traveling solo or with friends. There’s something about this part of the city that feels more authentic than the beachfront hotel strip — you know what I mean?
Rooms and Design
The room design follows that signature Soho House aesthetic — think warm woods, vintage furniture, and art that actually means something rather than generic hotel prints. My space had these gorgeous arched windows that let in the most incredible light, and the bathroom felt like a proper retreat with its deep soaking tub. The beds are seriously comfortable (I’m talking sink-right-in comfort), and they’ve thought through the details that matter — good lighting for reading, plenty of outlets, and blackout curtains that actually work.
Dining and Social Spaces
The restaurant here deserves its own mention — it’s not just hotel dining, it’s become a destination for locals too, which always tells you something. The menu changes seasonally and focuses on Mediterranean flavors with Middle Eastern influences, and the rooftop bar… well, let’s just say the sunset views over the Mediterranean are pretty spectacular. I actually ended up spending more time in the common areas than I expected — the library, the various lounges, even the pool area — because they’ve created spaces where you want to linger.
Why Guests Love It
This place works because it doesn’t feel like a typical luxury hotel — it feels like you’re staying somewhere with actual personality. The staff knows the neighborhood inside and out (ask them about the best hummus spot nearby), and there’s this relaxed sophistication that fits perfectly with Tel Aviv’s vibe. Yes, it’s expensive, but you’re paying for an experience that extends well beyond your room. The location score of 9.1 isn’t just a number — when you’re here, you’ll understand why people keep coming back to this particular corner of the city.
The concierge service in Tel Aviv books private yacht sunsets, backstage club entries, and bespoke gallery previews.
